# Block Time & TPS

Block time represents the average duration between two consecutive blocks.

## Average Block Time

Block time is calculated using a moving average of recent blocks.

Lower block time improves:

• Transaction confirmation speed • User experience • Network responsiveness

## Transactions Per Second (TPS)

TPS measures the number of confirmed transactions per second.

TPS = Total Transactions in Period / Time Duration

Higher TPS indicates:

• Better scalability  
• Higher validator efficiency  
• Stronger network performance
